The Dole Institute of Politics has announced the lineup for its 2009 Summer Series.
One event is scheduled to include a portrayal of Abraham Lincoln by Fritz Klein. Posing as the president, Klein will discuss the road to the presidency, life challenges and connections to Kansas, along with taking questions. That event is scheduled for 7 p.m. July 15.
Events are also scheduled for June. Richard E. Wood is scheduled to discuss his book “Survival of Rural America: Small Victories and Bitter Harvests” at 7:30 p.m. June 16. The book investigates the disappearance of rural towns in Kansas. A book signing follows the program.
Presidential historian David Nichols is scheduled to address President Dwight D. Eisenhower’s role in the civil rights movement at 7:30 p.m. June 30. A book signing will follow.
All the programs at the institute, 2350 Petefish Drive, are free and open to the public.
