LMH doctor to discuss stroke awareness

Lawrence Memorial Hospital is having a free educational program about strokes.

Dr. John Clark will present Stroke: How to Diagnose and Treat from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, 325 Maine.

Clark will talk about the leading cause of serious long-term disability in the United States. In addition to presenting information about diagnosis and treatment, the following topics will be discussed: risk factors, signs, symptoms and when to seek medical attention.

A stroke survivor also will share her story.

LMH nurses will offer free stroke screenings from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
