A hot-air balloon event slated for Saturday’s open house at the Lawrence Municipal Airport has been canceled due to weather concerns.

The hot-air balloon lift scheduled for 7 a.m. won’t happen, but city leaders said other events to celebrate the airport’s 80th anniversary will go on as planned.

The event kicks off with a pancake feed at 8 a.m. and ends with a flyover at 2 p.m.
