Health fair celebrates walk’s completion

An event this week aims to inspire residents to live a healthier life.

The event will celebrate the 727 county residents who just completed the eight-week Walk Kansas program. The participants have been invited to help encourage others to follow their footsteps. The health fair also aims to help the participants continue to live a healthier life.

The event will be from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Building 21 at Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds, 2110 Harper St.

K-State Research & Extension and the Douglas County Community Health Improvement Partnership are co-sponsoring the free event.

Businesses and organizations that promote health and wellness will provide information about how to stay active and make good food choices. The event includes snacks, door prizes and several drawings for prizes.
