The Lawrence Art Guild on Sunday held its 48th annual Art in the Park in South Park.

More than 100 artists were set up in booths displaying and selling their work. The guild receives 10 percent of the artists’ profits at the end of the day. This year’s goal was $5,000; Art in the Park is the guild’s largest fundraiser of the year.

After many days of rain recently, skies were brighter on Sunday and thousands of people turned out during the day. Guild President Linda Baranski was pleased with the crowd. “The people in the community are very supportive. They look forward to this event every year, so it’s nice to have people turn out in the droves that they’ve turned out in today. It’s been a very successful day,” she said.
