Area residents will have an opportunity to ask questions about a planned trail through East Lawrence.

The Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department will conduct a public meeting from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on May 13 at the East Lawrence Recreation Center, 1245 E. 15th St., to discuss plans for the Burroughs Creek Trail and Linear Park.

The long-planned project is being developed along the abandoned Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway line that runs from near Hobbs Park at 11th and Delaware to about 23rd Street. The project is being funded through a portion of the infrastructure sales tax voters approved in November, and also from a state transportation grant.

The meeting will go over construction plans for the trail, and will give residents an opportunity to ask questions about the project.
