Dentist rewards student with bicycle

During the month of February, the Kansas Dental Association celebrated National Children’s Dental Health Month with an art contest emphasizing “Keeping Your Smile Healthy.” The contest was for all Kansas third-grade students who submitted an original entry using pencil, ink, watercolor or crayon of how to keep your smile healthy. Eleven bicycles were given to the dental district winners.

Dr. N. Daniel Ranjbar, Lawrence, KDA first district chairman, presented a bicycle to Katelyn Hammer on April 23 at Veritas Christian School.

The bicycle was purchased from Sunflower Outdoor and Bike in Lawrence and a certificate for a bicycle helmet was also given from Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical.
