NASA exhibit to show moon rock on campus

The Kansas University School of Engineering is scheduled to be host to a traveling NASA exhibit in April that features a moon rock brought back to earth by KU’s first astronaut.

The exhibit, called Driven to Explore, is free and open to the public. Visitors can tour the exhibit from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 13 and 14 at Eaton Hall on the KU campus.

Featured portions of the exhibit include models of the next generation launch vehicles and human spacecraft and a 3 billion-year-old rock from the moon.

The rock was brought back to Earth on the Apollo 17 mission, commanded by KU graduate Capt. Ron Evans.
