The Internal Revenue Service’s taxpayer assistance centers will be open Saturday in Kansas and Missouri.

Taxpayers can get assistance preparing basic tax returns if they make less than $42,000. Assistance also will be provided about resolving tax issues, making account adjustments, accepting payments, establishing payment agreements, working with people who have a hard time paying, and providing tax forms and information about e-file.

The nearest IRS centers to Lawrence are in Topeka, 120 SE Sixth Ave., 4 Townsite Plaza, Suite 200; and in Mission, 5799 Broadmore.

The offices will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. On weekdays they are usually open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
