Candidate forums set for city, school board

Three more voter education forums are scheduled for candidates seeking seats on the City Commission and the school board.

Lawrence City Commission and school board candidates will participate in a forum hosted by the Voter Education Coalition on Wednesday at Lawrence City Hall, Sixth and Massachusetts streets.

School board candidates will take questions at 6:30 p.m., and City Commission candidates will take questions at 8 p.m. The forum is being taped to be broadcast later on Sunflower Channel 6 and on Sunflower’s On Demand system and at LJWorld.com.

School board candidates will have another forum at 7 p.m. March 25 at the school district administration center, 110 McDonald Drive.

City Commission candidates will have a forum at 7 p.m. March 30 in the commons area of Lawrence High School, 19th and Louisiana streets.

All the forums are hosted by the Voter Education Coalition, a nonpartisan partnership of 17 local organizations.
