Free State’s Chantay Caron and Lawrence High’s Taylor Bird earned berths on the 10-player All-Sunflower League girls basketball team as chosen by league coaches.

Bird, a 5-foot-9 senior, finished second in the league in both scoring (17.5) and rebounding (9.0). She also was in the top 10 in assists and steals.

Caron, a 5-11 junior, was sixth in the league scoring (14.0) and 10th in rebounding (6.4).

Free State’s Ashli Hill and Lawrence’s Haley Parker, both juniors, were named to the second team.

Accorded honorable mention were Lawrence’s Cassie Potter and Jasmyn Turner, and Free State’s Ashleigh Allam.
