Summers, Spencer & Callison, CPAs, Chartered has promoted James R. Colahan, CPA, and Michele C. Hammann, CPA, CVA as shareholders.

Colahan is the vice president of tax planning and preparation and has more than 24 years of experience. He schedules and supervises the firm’s tax staff and provides tax compliance, tax and financial planning services for individuals, trusts, partnerships and small corporations and he prepares and reviews individual and business financial and income tax documents.

Colahan earned a bachelor’s degree with distinction honors from Kansas University and a Certificate of Educational Achievement in Tax Planning and Advising Closely Held Businesses from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Hammann is a shareholder and vice president of the firm’s Lawrence office and has nine years experience.

She earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from KU and the designation of Certified Valuation Analyst from the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.

Hammann also has experience in providing assurance, tax and consulting services to nonprofit organizations, closely held and publicly traded companies.
