Job club formed to help community

A club called Career Connections has been started to help people who have recently lost their job.

The club was started by Susan Wade, director of the Career Development Center at Baker University, and her husband, John Wade, a Kansas University psychologist.

The couple will combine their efforts to help people with job support, interviews, resumes, networking and coping with emotional issues that come with job loss, Susan Wade said.

There is no charge to attend meetings, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Mondays at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church, 5700 W. Sixth St.

“It’s a community service,” Susan Wade said. “It may turn into a networking opportunity.”
