Lawrence police ticketed the driver of a car involved in a wreck Tuesday afternoon, which injured her 12-year-old passenger, Sgt. Bill Cory said.

Laura Voulton, 38, of Lawrence, failed to yield the right of way, causing the two-vehicle accident near Sixth and Eldridge streets, police said. The accident occurred at 4:15 p.m.

Police said Andrew Voulton, 12, was flown to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., with serious injuries. His condition was not made available by the hospital Wednesday evening.

Police identified the driver of the second vehicle as Julie Buller, 48, of Lawrence.
