Resident honored by state Democrats

Lawrence resident Kathy Greenlee, the Kansas Department on Aging secretary, received the John D. Montgomery Distinguished Service Award last week from the Kansas Democratic Party.

“With Kathy, there truly is no job too large nor too small. She has organized events, served dinners, made name tags, worked cleanup, walked door to door, made phone calls, held fundraisers, generously donated her own money, served as county chairwoman and offered free legal advice to Democrats across the state,” said party chairman Larry Gates.

The award recognizes long-standing service to the party. Greenlee received the award Friday during the Washington Days Awards Banquet in Topeka.
