Topeka Kansans for Life’s political action committee has endorsed Rep. Todd Tiahrt in the U.S. Senate race.
The announcement was made Thursday in dual press conferences in Wichita and Overland Park.
The endorsement comes less than a month after abortion provider George Tiller was killed.
Board member Christine Ostroski told reporters that the American people are “overwhelmingly pro-life and the tragedy of the violence” in Wichita should serve to underscore that even more.
She said, “We must be pro-life so we can live in a society where people don’t kill one another to solve what they think is a crisis.”
Tiahrt and Rep. Jerry Moran, both Republicans, are the only announced candidates for the Senate seat now held by Republican Sam Brownback.

I thought that Brownback was bad, but having this joker as our Senator would drag us down to the level of Oklahoma.

Moran is the best opinion for us democrats, I'm afraid to say.

This is the kiss of death for Tiahart, who readily deserves a kiss of death. This man put politics over the health and welfare of his own son and all children in the country.

Tiahart has not done a g-d thing for Kansas. I can think of nothing he has done that should be honored or respected.
I love Moran.

I think it's time for Mr. Tiahrt to go back to his job at The Boeing Company if they will take him.

Just the fact that he riles up the extreme left as seen in the above posts means that he is doing a fine job.

Huh?
The fact that an doctor who performed abortions was murdered underscores that the American people are "pro-life"???
First of all, I fail to see how murder underscores a position of pro-"life".
Second of all, that sounds suspiciously like Ostroski is saying that the murderer's actions should be taken as microcosm of how the American people feel as a whole. I would hope that was not her intent, but that sure is how it reads...

From the article: Board member Christine Ostroski told reporters that the American people are “overwhelmingly pro-life and the tragedy of the violence” in Wichita should serve to underscore that even more.
Good grief, what rot. Senseless people who condone, encourage, and invite assassinations and harassment now talk of the "tragedy" of violence? If Tiahrt has a lick of sense, he'll disavow any association with this pack of crazies.
If he doesn't distance himself from them, he'll have no one but himself to blame.
Americans are pro-life and pro-choice. Let's not forget to tell the whole truth, Ms. Ostroski.

Makes no never mind who runs as I don't know who I'm going to write in yet. I'll probably make that decision in Nov 2010.
The thing that bothers me is Ostroski's statement. She said, “We must be pro-life so we can live in a society where people don’t kill one another to solve what they think is a crisis.”
This, coming from an organization condoning murder to stop what they say is murder, doesn't make sense.

As for Brownback ... unless something happens, I see him as a shoe-in for gov. I don't like that and won't vote for him, but that's what will happen unless things change radically.

Moran please. Not Moron.

That means I too will not be voting for him. Any one they endorse is likely a half a step from the edge of insanity.
Interesting comment by Ostrowki, not accurate but you know nutty people do not care about being accurate. Americans are split down the middle on this one.

Did that b***ch just say that killing doctors was solving a crisis? What a moronic stand.

Go ahead, you dummy Ridiculous Religious Rite terrorist group, paint a big red target on Tiahart's back. I have no problem with that. He is part of a terrorist group and deserves to wear the target with snide.

I am middle of the road. The only political enemy I have is the Ridiculous Religious Rite.
I can go GOP and I can go Dem.
BUT I will never! ever! go Ridiculous Religious Rite. Not ever. They are the enemy.

Kansasvoter: Your comparison of Brownback and Tiahrt to those 2 Okies (James Inhofe and Tom Coburn) could'nt be better. I can't wait until the Kansas bashing begins as Toddy and Smilin Sam move toward the next election. I'll bet Phill Kline is somehow "resurrected". I almost forgot Steve Abrams.
Wizard of Oz, Fred Phelps, Evolution, Lowest Minimum Wages, Flatness and the Goat Gland Doctor are wearing kinda old; we need a new set of images to be ridiculed about.

I suggest all the hate filled extreme child abuse promoting posters on here say a prayer (if you pray) for one of your own. Michael Jackson just had a heart attack.

The Operation Rescue administrator in Penn is in the penn for child abuse and domestic violence. Ya think prayers got him to where he is today??????

Isn't that weird...I work with abused children and BigPrune accuses me of being a child abuser because I believe in the freedom of a woman's choice. I guess I should stop helping all of those little kids...sorry guys...BigPrune has time for you...I need to get to church and pray

You sound like a complete contradiction honestone. Perhaps you should do a re-evaluation of yourself.
But heck, the link also has a link to the Hooters Girls Swimsuit competition, if anyone on here is straight and appreciates beautiful women in bikinis.
Have a great afternoon!

Tiahrt endorsed by pro-life group. In other headlines, kitties are furry, water is wet and chocolate cake is tasty!

I actually got to meet Jerry Moran a few years ago and I'd support him over Tiahrt any day of the week. I may not like some of his stances, but at least he's rational, thinks for himself a bit, and can articulate reasons for why he believes what he does. Tiahrt is just a blowhard mouthpiece/puppet.

Wow...your perverted assement of my self-image really hurt. Of course coming from someone that then directs you to a Hooters Girl site makes you really wonder just how twisted the anti-choice segment of the community is.

Ostroski is correct. A recent Gallup poll found that most Americans define themselves as pro-life. Furthermore, an overwhelming majority of Americans oppose the late-term abortion practice Tiller was infamous for. The pro-abortion crowd once again turned to the courts several years ago after congress passed a ban on partial-birth abortions.

Regardless, we will eventually win out because by our very nature, pro-lifers will continue to procreate. On the other hand, those of you who believe it's okay to kill your own flesh and blood up to the minute their heads pop out will abort your twisted logic out of existence.
I predict NARAL and Planned Parenthood will be lobbying for limits to the number of children we can have within the next decade. They will reference the Octo-mom and John & Kate plus eight as reasons we should limit family sizes. On the bright side, Angelina Jolie won't have to go to Africa to adopt children. She can just adopt the "extra" children we will have here in our own country.
logicsound09 (anonymous) says…
That isn't very straightforward of you, straightforward. That same poll also shows that 76% of Americans being in favor of legalized abortion.
Which begs the question--how meaningful is it to identify oneself as pro-life (an overly generic term to begin with) when a great number of those people don't ascribe to the most basic belief that the pro-life movement supposedly stands for? It's like saying "I identify myself as a Christian, but I don't believe that Jesus Christ is the Messiah".
As far as I'm concerned, that poll is worthless and has been so for as long as they've used the inaccurage descriptor of "pro-life" in the poll. If the poll was concerned about validity, then it would eschew labels like "pro-life" and "pro-choice" in place of less politically charged terms.
I consider myself to be pro-life, as I am opposed to the death penalty, for example.

Only a fool would believe that ideology is hereditary.
Or that pro-choice advocates don't have children.
