Despite the heat, the City of Lawrence Summer Band Concert will go on as scheduled tonight, Duane Peterson of the Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department said, but it will move inside because of severe weather.
The concert is scheduled to run from 8 to 9 p.m., and will now be held at Kansas University's Murphy Hall.
Peterson said his office had received several calls from residents who were curious whether the high heat and humidity would cause the city to cancel or alter its plans for the concert. While the heat wouldn't have been a problem, the line of severe storms will be.
