Lawrence residents later this month will have the chance to enjoy a free performance of a traveling military band.

The Air National Guard Band of the Central States will play at 8 p.m. June 30 in South Park’s William Kelly Bandstand, 1141 Mass.

The band is part of the Missouri National Guard from St. Louis. The 35-piece band plays elements of marching, concert and jazz style bands.

The event, which is being coordinated by the Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department, is free and open to the public.
