Why isn't channel 6 broadcast OTA so those of us who can't afford cable can still keep up with the local news?

Cloth,
It is a cable channel. abc, nbc, cbs, pbs, fox, cw are broadcast channels. It is no different than ESPN, Discovery, tlc, cspan, etc.

cloth, have someone explain the difference between cable channels and broadcast channels in simple words. A cable channel is only on cable, a broadcast channel may also be carried on cable, a cable channel can not be broadcast.
