Shared blame

To the editor:

As I read the article entitled “As bear population rises, so do run-ins with people” (Journal-World, June 14), it became evident that not just the title but the story was slanted to place all blame on the bears. But the reality is that part of the problem lies in increasing “people” populations, too, and their spreading into areas typically inhabited by bears. Thus the article could have been just as accurately entitled “As people population rises, so do run-ins with bears.”
