Cat show coming to fairgrounds

The Kansas City Midwest Cat Club will host its annual cat show Saturday and Sunday in Building 21 at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds, 2120 Harper St.

The show is open to the public from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday. It will feature 27 breeds of pedigreed cats, as well as a selection of household pets. Animals on exhibit include several that were ranked in the top 20 in the nation in the American Cat Fanciers’ Association competition during the previous year. Breeds include Maine coon, ragdolls, selkirk rex and Tonkinese.

Admission is $5 for adults and $4 for seniors and children. A coupon for $1 off can be found in the Sunday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday editions of the Lawrence Journal-World.
