A man found dead Friday afternoon in a wooded area north of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway depot was identified by Lawrence police Monday as Leonard Cornelius, 53, of Baldwin City.

No foul play is suspected in his death, said Lawrence police Sgt. Bill Cory. An autopsy is under way to determine the cause of death, Cory said.

Witnesses said the body was lying next to a tent.

In October 2008, two men were found dead in a tent in the area, which in the past has been popular as a camping site for the area’s homeless. The city demolished the camp after last year’s deaths.

What, like maybe he died from exposure? ...in June???

Lack of shelter played no role in his death. My guess is that his death was the result of some poor personal choices; drugs, drink or other. Just like the last two homeless people that were found there.
