The Eudora Police have identified four juvenile suspects in connection with three mailbox bombs made with liquid Drano and aluminum foil.

The suspects are 15- and 16-year-old males, and they have not yet been taken into custody.

The first of the three bombs, which were in two-liter soda bottles, was discovered by a mail carrier Thursday afternoon at a home on the corner of 14th and Fir streets. The Olathe bomb squad detonated it.

On Friday morning, residents in the 1300 block of Acorn Street notified police of an explosion that had occurred between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Thursday. Members of the Eudora Police Department found the remnants of another Drano bomb in a mailbox there.

A mail carrier found another detonated Drano bomb in a mailbox near the corner of Winchester Road and 10th Street, just outside the Eudora city limits.

None of the residents were home during any of the three incidents.

Eudora Police Chief Greg Dahlem met Friday with officials from the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. The postal service offered a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the explosives.

The Eudora Police Department, Douglas County Sheriff’s Department and U.S. Postal Inspection Service are continuing the investigation. Anyone with information on the incidents is asked to contact the U.S. Postal Inspection Service at 877-876-2455 or the Eudora Police Department at 542-3121.

The seeds of domestic terrorism. Blow up a mailbox in Eudora when you're 15, blow up a federal building when you're 25.

These "kids" obviously harbor anti-government hate brought on by their extreme right-wing parents, and should be tried as adults. That's the best way to keep America safe in the post- 911 world.

This is 2009! This isn't the '70's or '80's where blowing up mailboxes are "kids play". They should be prosecuted to the full extent. I don't care how old they are. Let kids be kids, what kind of drug are you on man? Hey, I have a great idea, let's just tell every kid you see to go ahead and do bad stuff before you turn 18. Nothing will happen to you. You will just have to "work it off". Nice.

true punishment would be exploding these bombs in their faces.

Kids being kids is mailbox "baseball". Drano bombs are very least probation, and they are lucky no one got hurt. They better hope the U.S. Postal Inspection Service does not push the issue or this might be forever on there record.

Kids being kids. It used to be that the police would take them to their parents, and they would have to replace the mailbox and possibly do some work for the troubled parties. But NOOOO, nowadays they have trials and ruin a kid's life for acting like....15 and 16 yr old boys. Don't get me wrong, I would be pretty mad if this happened to me, but having the kids pay for it with good old fashioned sweat has a better outcome. Not to mention costs us taxpayers less.

Not that you can't find the information anywhere on the internet, but did the LJWorld seriously just publish this:

"Hi welcome to the LJWorld, here is how to make a bomb!

-2 liter bottle -liquid drano -foil"

---so, they weren't *teen girl NAZIs from eudora! wow, I can't believe Irish was so wrong!

and, the eudora PD has identified them, they're not in custody yet, but who've they identified them too? is it that the ljworld won't name them because they're juvie boys?

most of all, I hope these kids get some counseling, like a couple hundred hours of counseling each.

Kids wanting to have fun need to realize that messing with mail and mail boxes can be a federal offense with some stiff penalties.
