Garage sale to help family’s medical bills
A garage sale starts today that will raise money for the father of 11-year-old Blake McNish, who died in April of complications from a brain tumor.
All proceeds will be donated to Tim McNish, Lecompton, to help pay medical bills.
The garage sale will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Saturday and from 7 a.m. to noon Sunday at McNish’s home, 440 E. Seventh St. in Lecompton.
Tim’s brother Tom McNish is helping organize the garage sale. He said there is just about something for everyone. The items include a bed, riding lawn mower, freezer, children’s clothes and household items.
Blake was a fifth-grader at Perry Middle School. He received a diagnosis of brain cancer at 15 months of age. The cancer went into remission when he was 3 and then returned a month before he died.
