Retail owner attends conference

John Nichols, owner of the Plato’s Closet retail store in Lawrence, attended the company’s annual conference May 20-23 in Orlando, Fla.

Consultations were held on a variety of topics, such as marketing techniques, management skills, employee training and planning for business growth, Nichols said. The event featured a workshop on the “Profile of a Successful Store,” which reviewed the metrics of Plato’s Closet’s top stores, including what operational tools each store used.

Plato’s Closet offers current styles and popular teen fashion brands. It buys and sells brand name, gently used clothing, such as Forever 21, 7 for All Mankind, Express and American Eagle.
