Lawrence Police responded Monday night to an armed robbery call from the BP gas station at 3020 Iowa Street.

According to the station clerk, a black male about six feet tall with a thin build entered the station armed with a handgun around 10:17 p.m. The suspect demanded money from the clerk and then fled, exiting through the emergency door of the station. The suspect then entered the driver’s side door of a dark blue Honda vehicle and left the scene heading in an unknown direction.

The suspect was wearing a tan hooded sweatshirt, jeans and was carrying a tan bag. The clerk also said the man had acne scars on his face.

Lawrence Police do not have any suspects in custody.
