Shane Crady and Rachel Siroky, Lawrence, announce the birth of their daughter, Elizabeth Gail Crady, July 2, 2009, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center.

Elizabeth has two sisters, Ashley and Savannah, and two brothers, Cade and Teddy.


Adekunbi Adewunmi, Lawrence, earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Boston University. The engineering ceremony was May 17.


Gina Spade and Joseph Mastrosimone, Lawrence, announce the birth of their son, Ryan Kenneth Spade Mastrosimone, June 9, 2009, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Ryan has a brother, Zachary, 4, and a sister, Katie, 1.

His maternal grandparents are Ken and Mary Spade, Wichita; paternal grandparents are Nora Mastrosimone, Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y., and Carl Mastrosimone, Las Vegas. His great-grandparents are Emelia Spade, Wichita, Robert Bridges, Wichita, and Phillip Mastrosimone, Oxnard, Calif.


The department of history at Kansas University presented scholarships and awards totaling $25,440 to 14 outstanding students for work completed in the 2008-09 academic year.

David Gates, Lawrence senior in anthropology and history, received the Nicole Bingham Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship honors Bingham, who was a KU senior in history when she died in the October 2005 fire at Boardwalk Apartments in Lawrence. Margaret Yoe, Lawrence senior in history, received a Harley S. Nelson Family Scholarship. She is the daughter of Daniel and Janet Yoe and was home-schooled in Kansas.


Laura and Christopher Williams, Lawrence, announce the birth of their son, Cameron Asher Williams, July 5, 2009, at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka.

Cameron has two brothers Nathan, 7, and Benjamin, 4.

His maternal grandparents are Stephen Paige and Ginger Paige; paternal grandparents are Gregg and Barbara Williams. His great-grandparents are Eula Wenger and Lester Wenger.
