Company awarded business of the year

Jayhawk File Express was named the 2009 Topeka Small Business of the Year by the Greater Topeka Chamber of Commerce and Go Topeka on May 20 during an awards breakfast at Washburn University.

The company, founded in 1996 as a records storage business, has expanded to include document imaging, document destruction and off-site data protection services.

Keynote speaker at the awards breakfast was Neal Sharma, co-founder and CEO of Digital Evolution Group of Overland Park.

The company has grown from an original staff of three and now employs 31 people, including Lawrence residents Tyler Conway, director of operations, Vern Walker and Tobin McDaniel.
