Zaremba appointed to petroleum board

Scott Zaremba, president of Lawrence-based Zarco 66 Earth Friendly Fuels, was appointed to the board of directors of the Petroleum Marketers and Convenience Store Association of Kansas. The announcement was made by PMCA of Kansas President Terry Presta.

“The board of directors is extremely fortunate to have someone with Scott’s vision and business acumen to serve the PMCA membership,” Presta said. “Scott has been involved in the energy business his entire life, and he brings a wealth of new ideas as well as seasoned experience to the association’s leadership level.”

In 2008, Zaremba opened his company’s first retail renewable fuel distribution concept in Lawrence at Ninth and Iowa streets. The award-winning Green Energy Gateway Fuel Station is the first of its kind in the nation and is an initiative of Region VII of the Environmental Protection Agency.
