Jayhawk women tripped up

? Kansas University junior Danielle McCray scored a career-high 30 points in the Jayhawks’ 67-58 women’s basketball loss to Nebraska on Wednesday in Devaney Center.

Krysten Boogaard scored 18 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for the Jayhawks, who fell to 12-5 overall, 1-3 in Big 12 play. NU is 10-7, 1-3.

McCray and Boogaard finished with 48 points, the rest of the Jayhawks 10. McCray also had eight rebounds.

NU, which trailed 33-32 at halftime, rolled 15-3 to start the final half. McCray scored 17 of her 30 points in the second half.

KU hit 24 of 47 shots for 51.1 percent to NU’s 42.6 percent mark. KU also outrebounded the Cornhuskers, 35-27, but was hurt by turnovers as NU converted 22 Jayhawk miscues into 20 points, eight of which came off fastbreaks.
