Law enforcement report

A man demanding money from a gas station clerk Sunday night walked away empty-handed after the clerk questioned whether the suspect was armed.

Lawrence police Sgt. Damon Thomas said a man entered the Presto convenience store, 602 W. Ninth St., about 8:30 p.m. and demanded money from the clerk. The suspect did not display a weapon.

The man then left the station and fled north. The suspect was still at large late Sunday.
