Lawrence residents have various plans to celebrate Inauguration Day for President-elect Barack Obama on Tuesday.

Obama will take the oath of office Tuesday morning. The swearing-in ceremony starts at 11 a.m. Lawrence time. Evening events in Lawrence include:

• Douglas County Democrats will sponsor an Inauguration Day celebration at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Abe and Jake’s Landing, 8 E. Sixth St. The event will include music, food and a large-screen television to show replays of Obama’s inaugural address and other footage from Washington, D.C. Admission is free, but organizers ask anyone who attends to bring a food item to be donated to area food pantries.

• A Granada Inaugural Bash sponsored by members of MoveOn.org will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at The Granada Theater, 1020 Mass.
