Washburn University announces area students named to the dean’s and presidents lists for the fall 2008 semester.

To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a grade-point average between 3.4 and 3.99. To qualify for the president’s list, students must earn a grade-point average of 4.0. Area students named to the dean’s list are:

•Megan Hrenchir, Lawrence, was named to the dean’s list at Newberry College, Newberry, S.C., by earning a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher during the fall 2008 semester.

•Jarvis Doleman, Lawrence, was named to the dean’s honor list at University of Tennessee at Martin, by earning a grade-point average between 3.2 and 3.49 during the fall 2008 semester.

•Ashley Coffman, Lawrence, completed a Bachelor of Music Education, vocal music teaching preK-12, degree from Bethany College, Lindsborg, during the fall 2008 semester. Summer, fall, interterm and spring graduates for 2008-2009 will be honored during baccalaureate worship and commencement ceremonies on campus on May 24.

•David Jauch, Lawrence, was named to the dean’s list for School of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, by earning a grade-point average of 3.75 or higher during the fall 2008 semester.

•Erin Byrnes, Lawrence, was named to the honor roll at the University of Oklahoma-Norman, by earning a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher during the fall 2008 semester.

•Brooke Carter, Lawrence, was named to the President’s Honor Roll at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, by earning a grade-point average of 4.0 during the fall 2008 semester.

•Rockhurst University announces areas students named to the dean’s list for the fall 2008 semester, by earning a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.

Area students on the list are: Guy Montgomery and Brian Talbert, Eudora; and Josh Linton, Kaela Severa and Joseph Varberg, Lawrence.

•Anastasia Ramirez, Lawrence, received a $5,000 Newman Grant from Newman University in Wichita.

Ramirez will graduate from Free State High School this spring and attend Newman in the fall.

•Missouri State University, Springfield, announces area students named to the dean’s list for the fall 2008 semester, by earning a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher. Area students on the list are: Myriam Bloom, Ashley Mayer and Lynne Sauer, Lawrence, and Lauren Sanders, Wellsville.
