Police chase suspect on, off roads
A man suspected of stealing a car led Lawrence police and Kansas Highway Patrol troopers on a chase through Lawrence that turned into an off-road pursuit Saturday night.
Lawrence police Sgt. Ted Bordman said the suspect, a white male in his early 30s, led officers on a chase northbound on Kasold Road. He ran through a barrier and onto Farmers’ Turnpike. He veered off-road and the driver fled on foot.
A white female was apprehended and released, Bordman said.
The suspect was still at large at press time.
