Lawrence boys fall to ONW, 59-47

The Lions’ guard-heavy lineup chucked it from the cheap seats, firing up 27 three-point attempts in a 12-point loss against the Ravens. They hit only six of those attempts (22 percent).

Lawrence (4-3, 1-1) established its game plan early, taking nine of its first 10 shots from three-point range, but making just three of them.

“If you would have asked us, nine out of ten times that they would give us open looks like that, we’d believe we’re going to hit them,” said LHS point guard Dorian Green, who hit 1-of-10 threes. “We just didn’t hit our shots, and it got to us mentally.”

Despite Lawrence’s horrid three-point shooting performance, the Lions found themselves right in the thick of things with three minutes remaining in the game.

But Lawrence’s offensive structure evaporated in the final minutes, as ONW outscored LHS 12-2 the rest of the way.
