Marketing and sales professional says he’ll run for Lawrence City Commission
James Bush, a marketing and sales professional, plans to formally file Tuesday for a seat on the Lawrence City Commission.
Bush, who ran unsuccessfully for the City Commission two years ago, previously had told the Journal-World he was seriously considering a run. But Bush confirmed his plans Monday by sending out a press release to media members saying he plans to announce his candidacy at a 9:30 a.m. news conference Tuesday at Maceli’s, 1031 N.H.
Three seats are up for election. Commissioners Mike Amyx, Sue Hack and Boog Highberger all have terms that will expire in April.
The general election will be April 7. A primary election, if needed, will be March 3. Individuals have until Jan. 27 to file for a seat on the five-member commission.
