Judge sets bond at $100,000 in shooting case

A judge during the weekend set a $100,000 bond for an 18-year-old Lawrence man arrested on suspicion of attempted second-degree murder, the Douglas County Jail said.

Official charges have not been brought against the man, who was arrested at 3:45 p.m. Friday and booked into the jail on multiple counts, which also include aggravated assault, aggravated use of weapons, criminal threat and two counts of criminal damage to property.

Lawrence Police said the man was arrested in connection with reports of shots fired last month along 23rd Street, in which nobody was injured.

The suspect was arrested at his home in the 1600 block of West 20th Terrace.

According to jail records, he was ordered not to have contact with numerous people, or be at or around a home in the 600 block of Michigan Street, if released on bond.

The man remained in custody Monday.
