Police bring charges of attempted murder

Lawrence police arrested an 18-year-old Lawrence man at 3:45 p.m. Friday on charges of attempted second-degree murder.

Lawrence Police Sgt. Richard Nickell said that police arrested the man in connection with reports of shots fired last month along 23rd Street.

Nobody was injured in the incident.

Police arrested the man at his home in the 1600 block of West 20th Terrace.

He is also charged with aggravated assault, aggravated use of weapons, criminal threat and two counts of criminal damage to property.

“It’s been a dangerous deal with these shots getting fired around town,” he said. “We’ve been working on it and made this arrest.”

Bond was not set.
