Topeka ? Douglas County is one of 20 counties that will receive a portion of funds that were lost because of a state miscalculation of state fuels taxes.

Douglas County will receive $1,152,562 under the budget adjustment bill passed by the Legislature on Thursday and sent to Gov. Kathleen Sebelius. In the area, Leavenworth County will receive $655,874 and Shawnee County nearly $3.3 million.

Supporters of the provision said the funding makes up for about three years of the nine years of miscalculated tax revenue.
