To the editor:
One of the reasons I love living in Lawrence is the sense of community and responsibility of its residents. Our dog Tootsie was hit and killed by a car Tuesday night on Ninth Street. A kind woman stopped when she saw our dog in the road. She wrapped Tootsie in a blanket, took her to her home and called us. I was so distraught that I neglected to get her name. So, here is a public thank you for giving our beloved family pet dignity after her death. Your kind actions have eased our pain.
