GOP no help

To the editor:

I do appreciate President Obama’s attempt to work with the Republicans in Congress, but I believe that they have proven once again that they will not and cannot vote for anything that would support the middle class or working poor, which happen to be the feeder system to the entire economy.

How many times do we have to be kicked in the teeth before we understand that the right wing of the Republican Party will not vote for any program that does not support the top 3 percent? They love to call it the trickle-down economy. After the latest round of bank bonuses, we have seen how the money trickles down. It goes from the get-up-in-the-morning-and-go-to-work taxpayer to fat cats with bank accounts in some far off islands where it can’t be taxed.

To ask Republicans to comment on or participate in the stimulus package for all citizens, especially those who work for a living, is like asking Jesse James to guard the bank.
