Sunflower Broadband gives $6,500 to schools

Sunflower Broadband is awarding more than $6,500 this year to area schools as part of the company’s Gold for Schools program.

Under the program, which began in 2005, Sunflower donates $25 for each new subscriber who signs up for any gold level services and donates $10 for existing subscribers who upgrade services to the gold level during November. Sunflower has donated more than $27,000 to the program since its inception.

The program benefits schools in Lawrence, Eudora, Basehor and Tonganoxie.
