Yvonne Brownell, CPA, has been promoted to tax manager at Mize, Houser & Company, P.A., effective Jan. 1.

Brownell graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Washburn University in 1984. In 1993, she received a Master of Business Administration degree from Washburn and also obtained designation as a certified management accountant.

Brownell served several years as a tax manager for a regional CPA firm in Tucson, Ariz., as well as consulting for a Tucson law firm. After moving back to Kansas, she joined Mize Houser in 2003.

Brownell is a member of the Kansas Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Institute of Certified Management Accountants.

Mize, Houser & Company, P.A. is a regional CPA and information technology firm with offices in Topeka, Lawrence and Overland Park.
