The 600 families asking for help from the Ballard Center have all been adopted for this holiday season.
“We had a couple of secret donors who donated funds for us to go and do the shopping for the remaining families,” Ballard CEO Dianne Ensminger said. “It was a wonderful addition. We can stop worrying now because we’ve got everybody taken care of.”
Requests for help were double of what they were for the 2008 holiday season, and this was the first time Ensminger was concerned about getting donations for all the families.
Ensminger said a group was shopping for adopted families Monday morning and another group was delivering presents.
“You can’t even walk in here,” Ensminger said. “We’re trying to get it out as fast as we can. It’s absolutely amazing to see.”

This is a good story. Just knowing someone cares can lift your spirits. I think most often it is those who have received help and then bettered their life who are ready to help others in return.
Thank you donors!
