Holiday spirit?

December 16, 2009

To the editor:

Living on a small disability income is hard these days, but still my wife and I find that we can give to others. So in the spirit of Christmas I went to Dillons on Sixth Street to purchase a couple pairs of winter gloves to donate to the needy. In the spirit of Christmas, I selected two very warm pairs of gloves and took them through the self-checkout line. Then, in the hustle and bustle of the season, I walked away from the $40 cash back I had requested. I noticed I did not have the money after I got out in the street so I pulled my car over and called the store.

Someone had already taken the $40 and NOT turned it in (in the spirit of Christmas). So whoever found the $40 cash or watched me walk away from it, Merry Christmas and God bless, from my wife and I to you.

Maybe they took it and stuck it in the Salvation Army bucket outside the store....?

.....doubt it!

Always grab that cash before anything else!

The checker should have handed you the money, and certainly should have been aware that the wrong person took it. But, I understand that things can get hectic and so people don't notice things they ordinarily would.
