Wendy Lawrence Axlund, adjunct instructor with Pinnacle Career Institute and consultant with HealthCare Compliance Innovations, completed a specialized course in health care compliance and earned certification in healthcare compliance-consulting in October. The CHCC is earned by health care professionals who are able to demonstrate an understanding of federal regulations governing health care, including HIPAA and OSHA.

Axlund is one of two individuals in Kansas having demonstrated this level of knowledge in health care-related regulatory compliance. She assists physicians by helping their practices attain and maintain compliance as required by the government. In addition to consulting, she also instructs medical assistant and medical billing and coding students in health care law and ethics.

Axlund earned a bachelor’s degree in health care administration from Ottawa University and is a licensed practical nurse.
