Lawrence Community Shelter, 214 W. 10th St., needs two adult volunteers per evening, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., to help serve the evening meals until Jan. 22. Volunteers need to come to the shelter at 7:30 p.m. the first night they work to fill out a small amount of paperwork and have a brief orientation. Volunteers may work as many evenings as they want. Immediate needs

• A volunteer is needed to help upgrade the Web site for Housing and Credit Counseling Inc. (HCCI). The current Web site is designed using Front Page. HCCI needs a volunteer to review the current Web site at www.hcci-ks.org and recommend examples of other sites that offer good design layout for a variety of programs. • The Social Service League of Lawrence is requesting donations of blankets, coats, hats, mittens and scarves. Please bring items to 905 R.I. between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, or 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

• The Lawrence Community Theatre is currently searching for volunteers to help with a number of programs. Beginning in January, the theater will begin the acting companies, puppetry workshops and School’s Out, Theatre’s In programs.
