KU women defeat UMKC, 81-53

Krysten Boogaard scored a team-high 19 points, leading the No. 23 Kansas women to a 81-53 victory over UMKC on Thursday night at Allen Fieldhouse.

Boogaard went 6-for-9 from the floor and also added team highs in rebounds (nine) and blocks (three).

Danielle McCray contributed 18 points, making seven of her 10 shots from the field. Aishah Sutherland added 11 points, while Angel Goodrich posted 10 assists.

KU outscored UMKC, 39-23, in the second half.

The Jayhawks (6-2) will play host to Creighton at 2 p.m. Sunday.
