Man suffers facial injuries in apparent North Lawrence battery

Victim transported to LMH; Police seeking information on early Sunday incident

Police are seeking information about a battery that reportedly happened Saturday night or early Sunday morning in the 500 block of Locust Street.

According to Lawrence Police Sgt. Ted Bordman, the victim, a Haskell Indian Nations University student, suffered extensive facial injuries in the incident.

He was transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital for treatment early Sunday.

Police were dispatched at 3:52 a.m. to Blalock Hall, 155 Indian Ave., for a report of a battery. The victim had apparently received a ride from the location of the incident to Blalock Hall, on the Haskell campus.
