U.S. Rep. Jerry Moran was recognized with the first Kansas Bioscience Organization Legislative Leadership Award for his support of the bioscience industry in the state.

KansasBio, a nonprofit organization that supports the bioscience industry and research institutions in Kansas, presented the award on Thursday.

The Republican from Hays has worked to support more than 110 drug development companies in Kansas that have employed more than 10,000 people, a KansasBio news release noted.
